Tool Company Interior #1 (The Puddle) - Pencil on Paper - 2012 - 16.5 " x 29.5 "
Begun on site over several days and finished in the studio, this was the first of a series 3 made in the spring of 2012, documenting the interior of the condemned Cape Ann Tool Company building in Rockport, MA. Local sentiment had turned against this incredible structure, which as a massive piece of crumbling industrial architecture sitting on prime oceanfront land is nearly too good to be true. Despite a very public battle over the future of the property, I continued to sneak into the building and draw, knowing that every day I spent working here could be the last. The site is now being converted to condominiums.
There I am, working on the drawing. Photo by me. (Tripod/timer assisted...)
