This new group of work began during my year-long residency at the Stutz Artist Center in Indianapolis, and developed further at Vermont Studio Center and since I've moved to South Georgia. Beginning simply as an experiment in drawing "en plein air" around my residency building, the work has more self-consciously begun to examine the idea of honesty in appearance- how can seemingly realistic imagery be used to manufacture an unrealistically idealized perfection?
